UK Armed Forces Day 2020
27th June sees the annual UK Armed Forces Day. The event, which has been running for many years, commemorates the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.
Covid-19 restrictions mean that unfortunately many planned events centred on Scarborough will not be able to take place this year but the commemoration will still go ahead in other ways.
PCCW Global Networks (UK) Ltd have a long history of supporting the UK armed forces. Through the Media Force brand we provide connectivity and welfare internet services to a number of Army, RAF and Navy bases, allowing personnel to access high speed broadband whilst living away from their families and friends.
In addition in 2019, the business signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a promise to treat current and former forces personnel and their families fairly.
One way that the business supports ex-service members is through employment. As we seek to grow our business and recruit more people, we have recruited a number of ex-service personnel. Their range of experience in the forces, their commitment and sheer hard work ethic is of great value to us.
Currently we have people working across a variety of different areas including sales and account management, project management and installation and engineering. We’re proud to offer meaningful and progressive roles to help those leaving the forces return to civilian life and we thank them for their work in helping to develop our range of services and keep our customers satisfied.
