We've made the Connected Britain awards shortlist

The Connected Britain awards take place on the 18th June in London. PCCW Global Networks are pleased to announce that we've been shortlisted in two categories.

The Final Mile award is all about connecting the poorly connected or unconnected, looking at projects which have improved lives. Here we've shone the light on our work to reduce rates of digital exclusion through our partnerships with housing associations and the charity All Afloat. Recognising that many residents lack a fast, reliable and affordable broadband solution led us to work with housing associations to offer a solution.

The Superfast award for the overall connectivity project of the year. For our entry we've focused on our work with the military, in particular a project recently completed at RAF Wittering. This has delivered super fast fibre connectivity to the business areas of a major base. Our armed forces increasingly rely on connectivity for undertaking their work. Often remotely located and with poor infrastructure, bases such as Wittering are not well served by most suppliers. The project, delivered by PCCW Global was able to provide the site with a cost effective and innovative service.

We look forward to the awards night in a few months time.
